ASO Interlude Season - Akron Symphony Orchestra

ASO Interlude Season

Today, we are announcing the ASO Interlude Season – Akron Symphony’s Gift to the Community. In appreciation for the decades of support the Northeast Ohio community has provided to us, as well as to allow for the greatest level of accessibility for all, every Interlude Season event and experience will be provided free of charge during the 2020-21 season.

In lieu of performing large concerts at EJ Thomas Hall, the musicians of the Akron Symphony Orchestra will appear in small ensembles throughout the community over the coming year in a wide variety of highly accessible locations and settings. In addition, we will produce and provide digital online content for educational use in support of classroom teachers, music teachers, and adult education.

Thank you to our Partner Organizations: Akron Art Museum, Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Akron Public Schools, Akron-Summit County Public Library, Akron Zoo, International Institute of Akron, Jilly’s Music Room, Love Akron, Mustard Seed Market & Café, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, Summa Health, Summit County Historical Society, Tuesday Musical Association

We are proud to share that a number of local businesses and organizations have agreed to partner with us during our Interlude Season, including the Akron Art Museum, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Akron Public Schools, Akron-Summit County Public Library, the Akron Zoo, International Institute of Akron, Jilly’s Music Room, Love Akron, Mustard Seed Market & Café, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, Summa Health, Summit County Historical Society, and Tuesday Musical Association.

The full orchestra concerts previously announced for the 2020-21 season will be moved up a year to become the 2021-22 season. All subscriptions and tickets sold for the 2020-21 season will automatically be transferred to the 2021-22 season.

The Interlude Season will allow the Orchestra to quickly respond and adapt to ever-changing conditions on an as-needed basis. The ASO is excited to continue fulfilling our mission in the community while providing meaningful opportunities for the artists employed by the Orchestra.
