The Akron Symphony Guild’s annual Crescendo style show and silent auction was a success as the guild raised approximately $6,000.
More than 100 guests enjoyed an afternoon luncheon at the Fairlawn Country Club in support of the Akron Symphony Orchestra, Akron Youth Orchestra and Akron Symphony Chorus. Led by event Chair Madeline Bozzelli, the afternoon included a silent auction of items ranging from art objects to gift certificates, accessories, gemstone jewelry and a trio of oversized gift baskets.
This year’s event, entitled Style Notes, also featured fashions from Chico’s of Hudson, which were modeled by volunteers including Judi Brenner, Debi D’Amico Coudriet, Sue Gillman, Kathleen Henry, Nancy Irby, Mary Ellen Porcella, Julie Pulk, Pam Rupert and Wendy Turrell. The fashion show was emceed by Jacquie Mabry with accompaniment from the Gene Fiocca Combo.
The day was a success thanks to all the hard work of the volunteers, the guests and the generous sponsorship of Frances Bittle, Ciriello and Carr Funeral Homes, Friends of Kristen Scalise, Harwick Standard Distribution, OMNOVA Solutions, Paragraphics and Margaret Shaffer.
