The Akron Symphony Orchestra is teaming up with the Bridgestone SENIOR PLAYERS Championship for a special performance at the conclusion of the tournament on June 27.

Following the tournament trophy ceremony, ASO musicians will perform American Bandstand presented by Fleet Response, a program featuring family friendly patriotic, summer concert music from familiar composers like Aaron Copland, John Philip Sousa, Scott Joplin and John Williams. The hour-long performance will begin at approximately 6:15 p.m. on the Wentz Financial Group Driving Range.

Admission is free after 4 p.m., space permitting, which is ideal for anyone who wishes to attend the performance. Tickets for the golf tournament, which runs June 24 through June 27, start at $18 and are available at the tournament’s website.

Did You Know?

Firestone Country Club was established in 1929, with the South Course designed by Bert Way. Robert Trent Jones Sr. extensively redesigned it prior to the 1960 PGA Championship – the first of three times that Firestone held that event.

The layout is known for a collection of long and rugged par 4s and for the 667-yard par-5 16th hole, known as “The Monster.”

The course has hosted various PGA TOUR events over the years, including a World Golf Championship event in 1999-2001 and 2003-2018 before transitioning to hosting PGA TOUR Champions in 2019.
