The Akron Youth Orchestras will present a Side-by-Side Concert on March 15 at 3 p.m. at Tallmadge High School.

The concert will open with the Akron Youth Philharmonic, under the baton of Music Director Douglas Bayda, performing selections from the Kabalevsky Suite, along with Lortz’ A Matador’s Tale.

The Akron Youth Symphony, under the baton of Music Director Eric Benjamin, will follow with Rossini’s William Tell Overture and Sibelius’ Karelia Suite.

Musicians from both groups will then combine to perform a selection from Debussy’s La Cathédrale engloutie and Star Wars Through the Years by composer John Williams

Tickets, which are required for the performance, are $10; children age 10 or younger are free. Tickets may be purchased online, by calling the Symphony Box Office at 330.535.8131, or at the door starting one hour prior to the performance.

Tickets purchased the week of the concert will be available at the Will Call table on the day of the performance.

Tallmadge High School is located at 140 North Munroe Road in Tallmadge.
