The Akron Symphony opens the 2021-22 season with a performance highlighted by Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, considered by many as one of the most important works of all time. Duke Ellington was inspired by Handel’s Water Music and Debussy’s La Mer while composing his portrayal of human life. Florence Price’s Ethiopia’s Shadow in America received honorable mention in the Rodman Wanamaker Music Contest in 1932.

The best way not to miss a note is to become a season subscriber. Patrons who subscribe enjoy steep discounts on a full season of concerts, guaranteed seats, a 10 percent discount on additional single ticket purchases, and a flexible ticket exchange program.
