Renee Pipitone named a GAMA Trustee
The Greater Akron Musical Association Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome Renée Pipitone to the board.
Renée earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of Akron and a master’s degree in education from Youngstown State University. She taught vocational job training child care and home economics at the high school level for several years before joining the faculty at The University of Akron, where she taught child development and related courses. Most recently she was the CDA advisor for Akron Summit Community Action Head Start, also providing staff training for Head Start teachers.
Renée is a longtime member of the Akron Symphony Guild and has served for several years on GAMA’s Board, most notably as Board President from from 2012-2014. She has served as chair of the Symphony Gala, Crescendo, and on GAMA’s Education Committee for many years.
Renée joins fellow new Trustees Tracy Dowe, a vice president and relationship manager with Wells Fargo Commercial Banking, Quinnie Lane, a senior customer marketing and national identification representative with Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Charles Myricks Jr., a composer and chief operating and development officer of the National Association of the Church of God, and Noriko Wilson, a pianist and educator.
