COVID-19 Info - Akron Symphony Orchestra

COVID-19 Info

As you are aware, we have been monitoring the global outbreak of COVID-19 and planning for several contingencies as the virus has spread. Our highest priority is to ensure the health, safety and well-being of our musicians, staff, patrons and the Northeast Ohio community. We also continue to review guidance on a daily basis from government officials at the federal, state and local levels. Ensuring health and safety now means taking actions to limit potential exposure to the virus and create social distancing.

To that end, and following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Summit County Public Health, we are implementing a number of actions intended to slow the spread of the virus and protect the health of our musicians, staff, patrons and the Northeast Ohio community. We realize these actions may be disruptive to our mission, but the health and safety of our community is our primary focus.

Upcoming Concerts

Effective Friday, March 13, all Akron Symphony Orchestra events will be postponed at least through March 31. This includes the Classic Series concert scheduled for March 28. A decision about whether to cancel this performance or postpone it to another date will be made as the community health situation continues to evolve. All current tickets will be honored should the concert be rescheduled. In the event of a cancellation, refund information will be sent at that time.

At this time, we are still planning to hold our Concerts for Kids series from May 5-7, as well as our Classic Series concert on May 16. The Akron Symphony Chorus concert scheduled for May 8 has been postponed until August.

Akron Symphony Office

Effective Monday, March 16, Akron Symphony staff will be working remotely through March 31. We will have the ability to answer ticket and donation inquiries and all other matters by email and phone, and will get back to you as quickly as possible regarding your needs.

Thank you for your continued support of the Akron Symphony Orchestra as we seek ways to fulfill our mission and protect your health and safety.
