Akron Symphony Friends
About Friends
The Akron Symphony Friends is an “organization” of people who love music and the Akron Symphony and who want to show their appreciation and support for the 70-plus years the Symphony has enriched the lives of people in our community. As Friends, we volunteer our time for educational events like Link Up, the Carnegie Hall-sponsored education program for elementary school students, and Concerts for Kids, the Symphony’s program for preschool-age children. We plan fundraising events like the Lakes Tour and A Night at the Races, and we assist with the Symphony’s Spring Gala.
The Friends also offers:
- A way to support the Symphony without requiring membership in a formal organization
- Volunteer opportunities at events that match your interests
- Invitations to special receptions and entertainment before and after concerts
- A welcoming community of people from all backgrounds and ages
- Camaraderie with others who share a love of the Orchestra, the Chorus, the GMS Choir and the Akron Youth Symphonies.

Support us
Help us keep the music alive, the lights on and ticket prices reasonable. Supports education for the youth symphony and chorus, too.
The Black & White Gala
For over 70 years, the Akron Symphony’s Spring Gala has been a fun and engaging way for members of the community to come together and support exceptional symphonic music in Akron. Join us on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at House Three Thirty, as we honor The Corbin Foundation’s Erika May for her decades of service to the community with great food and drinks, fabulous entertainment, and a chance to mingle with fellow music lovers!
