For expressive range and communicative power, no work commands attention as Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony does. The purity and force of its two-hundred-year-old vision still brings solace to our world. Maestro Wilkins leads the towering Ninth, which culminates in the famous “Ode to Joy.” Cleveland Institute of Music-trained composer and pianist, Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate conducts Clans, a narrated orchestral work drawing on the culture and history of his own Chickasaw heritage. University of Akron’s Dr. LaDonna Blue Eye, an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation, is the work’s storyteller.
